Nashville, TN October 23, 2006... Multi-platinum selling country artist Trace Adkins will perform the U.S. National Anthem prior to Game Three of the 2006 World Series on Tuesday, October 24 at Busch Stadium in St. Louis, MO.

Earlier this year, Adkins teamed-up with Major League Baseball to launch the worldwide online debut of his single "Swing" at MLB.com. The song’s clever use of baseball metaphors in describing the art of a man and woman's romantic pursuit, hit a home run with not only country music fans, but with practically every Major League Baseball stadium across the country who has played the song to rally fans during home games.

Adkins is currently the headlining act for CMT ON TOUR and has been promoting his latest hit single, "Ladies Love Country Boys."

Adkins' performance of the National Anthem will kick-off the 2006 World Series at approximately 8:11pm ET, televised nationally by FOX Sports and televised around the world by Major League Baseball International. ESPN Radio and XM Satellite Radio will provide national radio coverage, while MLB.com will provide extensive online coverage and MLB Radio will provide exclusive play-by-play coverage of the game on the Internet.
