Band Wraps Month-Long European Tour, Heads Out with Falling Up
(NASHVILLE, Tenn.) Sept. 19, 2007—Forefront Records’ latest signing, Toledo-based band This Beautiful Republic won the hearts of fans across Europe last month on a three-week tour which wrapped Aug. 31. The in-demand band embarked on another tour alongside Tooth & Nail recording artist Falling Up, beginning Sept. 7.
Supporting the European release of Even Heroes Need A Parachute, This Beautiful Republic kicked off its tour with a stop in Kulma, Sweden to headline the Frizon Festival, which set a new annual attendance record. The band then traveled to the Netherlands, where it performed at Flevo Festival in Liempde. From there it was on to Germany to co-headline multiple club dates with mainstream pop band, The Hot Stewards. Between shows with The Hot Stewards, This Beautiful Republic made its way to Lunderskov, Denmark, headlining the Glow festival. The group rounded out its trip at the United Kingdom’s Greenbelt Festival, sharing the main stage with Delirious?, and played several gigs in London before flying home.
“I just returned from the Greenbelt Festival, and This Beautiful Republic was brilliant, really brilliant,” comments Jonathan Brown of Fierce Distribution in the UK. “Not only did they perform a great set, but I really enjoyed hanging out with them.”
In keeping with its non-stop tour schedule since last spring, This Beautiful Republic will team up with pop-punk band Falling Up for a number of shows through October. The band will additionally be doing spot dates with Thousand Foot Krutch. Visit www.thisbeautifulrepublic.com for an updated tour itinerary.
“It is great to be back in the good ole US of A,” says Ben Olin, frontman for This Beautiful Republic. “We are especially excited to be going on tour with Falling Up. They have one of the greatest live performances I have ever seen. I am most looking forward to seeing all of the fans that are coming out to see us again after our first encounter with them on the Sanctus Real tour.”
Comprising lead singer Ben Olin, drummer Andy Smith, guitarist Jeremy Kunkle, bassist Brandon Paxton and Adam Smith, also on guitar, This Beautiful Republic hails from Toledo, Ohio. The band’s catchy vocals, riveting guitar sound, and unshakable fan loyalty quickly generated a local buzz which garnered the attention of Forefront Records, who signed This Beautiful Republic last fall. Its label debut, Even Heroes Need a Parachute, produced by Allen Salmon (most noted for engineering records by Sanctus Real as well as Mute Math) and mixed by Mark Needham (The Killers, Fleetwood Mac, Michelle Branch) released April 3, 2007 to wide recognition from critics, many who cited This Beautiful Republic as a contender for New Artist of the Year. The band toured alongside Sanctus Real followed by Dizmas last spring and performed regularly on the summer festival circuit. Its current single, “Black Box,” is being played on Christian Rock radio.
