She's an acclaimed singer-songwriter and a mother of five who has made some of her biggest dreams a reality. One more dream will become her reality as Lori McKenna makes her Grand Ole Opry debut, Friday, Sept. 28 and appears for a second time on Saturday, Sept. 29. McKenna's Saturday performance will air live on GAC's "Opry Live!" (7:00 - 8:00 PM/CT).
"I never imagined I'd be playing the Opry," said McKenna. "It's such an honor, I mean, the Opry IS country music."
McKenna's Warner Bros. Records debut, Unglamorous - which was produced by Tim McGraw and award winning producer Byron Gallimore, is currently climbing up the charts. People Magazine gives the album four stars and says, "What really gets you on 'Unglamorous'...is the strength of the songwriting." USA Today also hails, "...a winning showcase for McKenna's own achy-sweet, warmly knowing voice ..."
McKenna was thrust into the limelight in 2006 when Faith Hill included three of McKenna's songs on her No. one album Fireflies, including Hill's hit, "Stealing Kisses." Since the release, McKenna opened the mainstage on several dates for Faith Hill and Tim McGraw's Soul 2 Soul 2007 Tour to rave reviews.
