Collin Raye & Carmen Rasmussen Join Utah Governor Huntsman At Huntington Community Event Celebration of Heroes event to be held September 15

Image Salt Lake City - Governor Jon Huntsman will join Mayor Hilary Gordon, family and friends of the lost miners in the Crandall Canyon Mine Disaster and citizens from around Utah at two special events to be held in Huntington. "Now is a time for healing," said Governor Huntsman.

"It is my hope the entire State of Utah will rally around the family and friends of the lost miners, in addition to the community of Huntington, and help them find peace during this difficult time." On September 15, Governor Huntsman will be in Huntington to be part of a Celebration of Heroes event to be held at the Canyon View Junior High School beginning at 3:00 p.m. Featured performers include country-music artist Colin Raye, American Idol contestant Carmen Rasmussen, and Jericho Road, in addition to several local artists. "It seems like nothing less than blessed duty, to help any way I can, as the people of Utah begin the healing process, from this painful tragedy," said Collin Raye.

"It is for the lost miners, their families, the rescue workers and the entire state. I will proudly join with my dear friends, Governor and Mrs. Huntsman, to honor the lives of the lost and celebrate the beautiful spirit of love and giving that is Utah." Some of the best freestyle motocross riders in the world will also be part of the show. X Games gold medalists Ronnie Renner and Adam Jones and 2006 Dew Tour winner Mike Mason will showcase their extreme talent for attendees. The Huntington motocross track is open from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. for local riders who will get a chance to meet Renner, Jones and Mason
