Patrick (Rockmond Dunbar) is a successful magazine writer living the high life in the big city. One day, he gets a knock on the door from a young boy named Gabriel (Aaron Grady Shaw) who claims to be Patrick's son. So, the new father travels with the kid to his mother's (Loretta Devine) house in the small town where he grew up to figure out who Gabriel's mom might be and to figure out what to do with this new, unexpected complication in his life.
