THE NASHVILLE MUSIC GARDEN ADVANCES WITH THE INSTALLATION OF ITS FIRST ROSES
Always Love You and Nashville Rose Make Their Debut in the
Nashville Music Garden
Nashville, Tenn.—March 7, 2008—There is no better way to welcome the start of spring than by planting flowers! The Nashville Music Garden, located at the corner of Fourth Avenue and Demonbreun in the Hall of Fame Park, is a one of a kind rose garden that will honor both singers and songwriters synonymous with Nashville’s Music Community. On Thursday, March 6, 2008, the first two roses, Always Love You and Nashville Rose, were installed in the 2,700 square-foot-honorary garden. The debut roses are only part of the Nashville Music Collection, a special collection of roses named after artists, music industry leaders and songs related to Music City. Over the coming weeks, the remaining roses including Barbara Mandrell, Amy Grant, Dolly Parton, Lynn Anderson, Elvis, Pam Tillis, Ring of Fire, Tennessee Waltz, and Rocky Top will be installed along side Always Love You and Nashville Rose.
On hand for the installation were Randall Lantz, Superintendent of Horticulture for Metro Parks and Recreation; Jim Douglas, Landscape Architect from Hodgson & Douglas who designed the park; Dr. Louis Mishu, Rosarian and Horticulture Expert and Consultant for the garden; Pat Bullard of LifeWorks Foundation and financial support for the garden; country music legend, Barbara Mandrell; Jackie Jones, Superintendent of Community Affairs for the Metro Parks Board; Heather Middleton, Director of Public Relations for the Nashville Convention and Visitors Bureau; Jeff Harvey, 2007 President of the Nashville Rose Society and Charles Lott, 2006 President of the Nashville Rose Society.

The inspiration for the Nashville Music Garden began a little over a year ago from a conversation among good friends when country music legend Barbara Mandrell gave her namesake rose to a friend and avid gardner, Pat Bullard. Bullard, Trustee of LifeWorks Foundation, a local charitable organization, immediately recognized a potential garden as a way to acknowledge the music and artists synonymous with Nashville and also a way to beautify Music City.
The initial groundbreaking for the Nashville Music Garden was held on November 20, 2007, and a formal dedication for the music garden is tentatively scheduled for summer of 2008. Be sure to watch for more information over the coming months or visit us at www.nashvillemusicgarden.com.
